Taulant Xhaka

Taulant Xhaka is the older brother to Arsenal’s new super signing and Granit.

He currently plays for FC Basel in the Swiss league and is a versatile defensive midfielder who can also play centre-back and right-back.

Taulant hasn’t scored any goals and doesn’t really assist but he is a wall that is hard to break down. As a major part of Albania’s historic qualification to the Euros, he features in a side that will be tested defensively by fast paced attacking teams such as France and Switzerland.

It’s safe to say that Albania’s best chance of qualifying for the knockout stages is if they finish third in their and hope that they will be one of the top four teams in that mini league.

Xhaka is a tough tackling player and the complete opposite to his younger brother. The grit and determination is something that could appeal to Slaven and would be a useful addition to call upon, especially with Taulant’s experience in the Europa league and Champions League.

The game v. Switzerland will be a monumental one as it will be the first time in European Championships history that two brothers will face against each otheR.

But another interesting outcome is that due to Kosovo being given independence and included as a FIFA national team, they could both leave their current nations and play for Kosovo, so they could be the first brothers to play against each other and then play with each other.

Interesting!
