Frederik Alves is yet to make a first-team appearance for West Ham but his recent return to east London might suggest David Moyes is considering him.

The Danish youngster joined the club from Silkeborg in 2020 and spent the first half of this season on loan at League One Sunderland.

But he struggled for game time, only making ten appearances in all competitions and failed to start a single league game.

His failure to get more minutes under his belt may have been the main reason behind the club recalling him, but it may also suggest Moyes is hoping to bolster his defensive options while Kurt Zouma works his way back to full fitness and Angelo Ogbonna remains sidelined for the rest of the season.

Either way, Alves seems delighted to be back at Rush Green if his recent Instagram post is anything to go by.

He captioned two photos of him in training with the first team – the likes of Jarrod Bowen, Declan Rice and Ryan Fredericks also visible in the snap – with the comment: “Good to be back again with the mighty Hammers. Energy!.”

The 22-year-old arrived at the club two years ago with a fair bit of promise, so it’ll be interesting to see whether he can fulfil that in claret and blue in the near future.
