West Ham continue to chase midfield reinforcements in the summer transfer window but could miss out on one reported target.
The Hammers have long been linked with an interest in Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, who is set to leave the Gunners this summer after his contract with the north London side expires.
Wilshere put a number of clubs, including West Ham, on alert last week when he confirmed he would leave the Emirates Stadium but Manuel Pellegrini’s side could miss out in surprise circumstances.
Turkish-Football state that Wilshere has been invited to Istanbul to discuss a potential move to join Fenerbache, who are keen to bring the England international to Turkey.
Former Arsenal scout Damien Comolli is currently the sporting director of Fenerbahce and is keen to use his links to negotiate a deal.
Fenerbache are keen to land the 26-year-old and are willing to offer Wilshere a long-term deal to tempt him into a switch to the continent, though a move would be difficult due to his young family.
