Sam Allardyce has taken a hell of a lot of stick over the last few weeks, despite managing to steer the club to within touching distance of Premier League safety for at least another season.

Monday night’s 2-1 win away to Sunderland may go down as one of the most important victories of the season and the way in which we held on after Adam Johnson pulled a goal back for the hosts with 25 minutes still to play gave us all a reason to celebrate.

So it’s no surprise Big Sam took to the London streets this evening with, I can presume, is his wife. But, unlike most other Premier League managers who aren’t exactly flavour of the month with a section of their club’s fans, Allardyce chose the tube as his transport of choice.

But by looks of their faces, it didn’t go down too well with the one who would’ve preferred to the chauffeur driven limousine?

Well, he is the 13th highest paid football manager in the world. Allegedly.
