So Enner Valencia has left the club and it’s a real shame it didn’t work out for him.

Having signed for £12m from Pachuca two summers’ ago, we can ultimately count on one hand how many times he really made a difference on the pitch.

That’s not necessarily his fault, though. The Ecuador international always gave 100% but, ultimately, he just struggled to fit in and adapt to the rigours of Premier League football.

That’s why it’s a little strange that Everton have decided to sign him.

It was confirmed this evening that he has joined the Toffees on a season long loan deal with an option to buy him for £14.5m next summer.

There’s no surprise that some of our fans were looking forward to the club parting ways with Valencia – most of which have been lacked a lot of class in the process – and now they’ve got their wish.

One thing that has shocked me in recent weeks is the way in which some so called fans can be so nasty about someone, especially one of their own players. Some of the things I’ve seen aimed at Valencia on social media has been nothing short of disgusting – it’s just frustrating he didn’t prove them wrong in claret and blue.
