West Ham United has announced they will be streaming the full 90-minute running of the Hammers’ dramatic 5-4 victory against Bradford City.
An extraordinary encounter that witnessed Joe Cole’s first-ever goal at the Boleyn Ground, unprecedented scenes from Paolo Di Canio and an incredible turnaround from 4-2 down – and everything can be seen at 6pm tonight.
It remains one of West Ham’s most dramatic matches in history and the club are giving fans to relive that moment again. The entire 90-minute action will be streamed for free on the club’s YouTube channel.
The Hammers have already streamed Mark Noble’s testimonial match and the final match at Upton Park, adding this classic encounter to the list.
With COVID-19 bringing a halt to footballing action across the world, clubs are now required to provide entertainment using different, unique methods and West Ham has done a fantastic job, especially the latest ‘Throwback Thursdays‘ idea.
And the announcement generated plentiful reaction from fans on social media…
One of the most #amazing matches I have ever been to! Goalkeeper Stephen Bywater, making his PL debut, concedes FOUR goals and STILL ends on the winning team … and Paolo (the legend) pleading to be substituted after having THREE penalty appeals turned down!
