West Ham finally picked up their first win under Nuno Espírito Santo last weekend, beating Newcastle United 3–1 in what felt like a long-overdue boost.

Goals from Lucas Paquetá, Tomas Soucek, and a Seve Botman own goal eased the pressure slightly — but the Hammers remain deep in trouble near the bottom of the Premier League table.

With January fast approaching, the upcoming transfer window is shaping up to be crucial.

Nuno Espírito Santo is expected to offload fringe players such as Guido Rodríguez, while at the same time targeting reinforcements to shore up a defence that has leaked far too many goals.

One new name has now entered the frame — and it’s a familiar one.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, West Ham are once again showing interest in Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck, having previously missed out on signing him in the summer.

Reports claim the Hammers submitted a €25 million offer earlier this year but were unsuccessful in their pursuit. However, the club has continued to monitor the 24-year-old German centre-back, who is viewed as an ideal addition to Nuno’s defensive rebuild.

Bisseck, who has one cap for Germany, has been described as “courageous” in his style of play and is reportedly “eager to test himself in the Premier League.”

Tottenham are also said to be tracking his situation, while Inter are believed to be open to selling for the right price.

Whether a January move materialises remains to be seen, but a summer exit from the San Siro appears increasingly likely.

For West Ham — still fragile despite their recent win — a defender of Bisseck’s profile could prove invaluable in stabilising their back line and turning their season around.
