West Ham wonderkid Reece Oxford has poured cold water over reports he has rejected a new contract.

Sky Sports News HQ reported on Tuesday that the 17-year-old had rejected an improved contract, fuelling speculation he would be leaving the club.

Arsenal were reportedly interested in signing the youngster back in December, with MirrorFootball claiming the Gunners were lining up an £8million move for him.

But it is also being reported that Oxford has a clause in his contract that states West Ham do not have to accept a bid of less than £10m for the youngster.

However, shortly after reports emerged of his decision to reject a new contract, Oxford took to Twitter to deny any truth in the matter…

oxford1Oxford’s current contract runs to 2018 and it’s no secret that the club are eager to tie him down to more extended terms in the near future.
