West Ham will not be securing Chris Wood anytime soon, according to a source close to WestHamWorld.co.uk.
The Leeds hitman looks set to return to West Bromwich Albion where he spent four years. During that four years he was loaned out six times before Leicester City finally signed him on a permanent basis.
Woods has scored 27 goals for Leeds this season and West Brom are battling with Stoke City to sign their former player for £13m.
West Ham have been previously interested, however they have turned their attention to more recognised and proven Premier League strikers to elevate the club further.
Defoe is the priority signing for the Hammers and Shane Long is also on the radar, whilst Diafra Sakho looks set for a move back to France with Nice interested to fill a void left by Mario Balotelli after his loan spell came to an end.
Diafra could leave for as little as £10m.
