West Ham have been reasonably active in the summer window so far — and after a frustrating 2024/25 campaign, that’s exactly what fans wanted to see.
Mohammed Kudus may have departed for Spurs, but Graham Potter has wasted no time bringing in fresh faces. Kyle Walker-Peters and El Hadji Malick Diouf have already joined the ranks, while moves for Callum Wilson and potentially Douglas Luiz are gathering pace.
These aren’t just any signings — they bring Premier League experience and much-needed leadership to a squad that lost its identity last season.
Now, the Hammers are pushing to complete another important deal — one that could finally solve a position that’s caused issues for far too long.
West Ham to Sign New Keeper “Imminently”

The goalkeeper is a major headache for West Ham right now.
Lukasz Fabianski has officially moved on, and while Alphonse Areola showed flashes of quality, his inconsistency cost us at key moments last season. The only other option is Wes Foderingham, who, at 35, isn’t a long-term fix.
But help could soon be on the way.
According to trusted club insider ExWHUEmployee, the search for a new No.1 is well underway — and a deal is expected soon.
“I can report that the main priority for the club this week is securing a new goalkeeper. I put this to a top source who said ‘I am driving the recruitment team mad – this is now a top priority,’” he told The West Ham Way Podcast. “I expect moves to happen this week.”
Ex went on to reveal the three leading contenders for the job, all of whom are actively being tracked by Potter and his recruitment team.
“My understanding is that the main choice is Zion Suzuki of Palma – however it’s not clear if he wants to depart Italy yet in his career,” he said. “Mads Hermansen is another the club are very very keen on, with the player having worked with new goalkeeper coach Casper Ankergren previously at Brøndby.”
The third name on the list? One fans will recognise from recent reports — Michael Cooper of Sheffield United.
“I understand he is a player identified by Potter,” said Ex. “So having that relationship with the player could well help us strike a deal.”
A proper No.1 has been a long time coming — and if West Ham can land one of these targets this week, it’ll be another step in the right direction for Potter’s rebuild.
