Goals have been one of West Ham’s biggest issue this season.

Despite flashes of brilliance from Lucas Paquetá and Jarrod Bowen, Nuno Espírito Santo’s side have struggled to find a reliable source of goals — with neither Callum Wilson nor Niclas Füllkrug able to make their mark.

The summer departure of the club’s record Premier League scorer Michail has also left a notable void at the spearhead of their attack.

The Hammers have scored just twice in their last three Premier League matches and sit 19th in the table, underlining the urgent need for attacking reinforcements in January.

And it seems they have their eye on one man in particular.

According to a new report from Claret & Hugh, West Ham United are exploring a potential swap deal to bring Palmeiras striker Vitor Roque to the London Stadium.

The Brazilian forward — described as “class” by his former Barcelona teammate Ronald Araújo — has been linked with a move to East London in recent months as Nuno looks to add firepower to his misfiring frontline.

Palmeiras, meanwhile, are said to be considering a move to re-sign Luis Guilherme, who left for West Ham in 2024.

Reports suggest the Brazilian giants would be open to negotiating a cash-plus-player swap, potentially paving the way for Roque’s Premier League arrival.

Guilherme has struggled to settle in England, featuring sporadically under both Graham Potter and Nuno Espírito Santo. With minutes hard to come by, a return home could appeal to both player and club.

Roque, on the other hand, has been in superb form since rejoining Palmeiras earlier this year, scoring 14 goals and providing four assists in all competitions. The 20-year-old’s pace, power, and natural finishing ability make him one of Brazil’s brightest attacking prospects.

A deal of this nature would undoubtedly be complex, but with Nuno eager to reshape his squad and the board mindful of financial limitations, a player-exchange agreement could be the creative solution West Ham need to solve their goalscoring crisis.
