It’s difficult to think of a player who has had the same huge impact and become a fan favourite as quickly as Dimitri Payet has at West Ham.
Ever since he arrived at the club in the summer he’s been a hugely important player for us, and his injury in the draw with Everton at the beginning of November hit us hard.
However, despite not featuring for the club for seven and a half games, the Frenchman is still up there when it comes to stats.
WhoScored.com have crunched their numbers and revealed that Payet is still ranked as the fifth best performer in the Premier League so far this season.
From 12 starts, Payet has scored five and assisted three, with a pass success rate of 81.2%. That leaves him on the same overall rating as Alexis Sanchez, who has played two games more.
The only players above him are Sanchez, Jamie Vardy, Mesut Ozil and Riyad Mahrez but, what’s most impressive is the fact out of the top ten players in the list, Payet has made the least appearances but still finds himself well up there.
Payet also has a fairly impressive ratio of a goal every two shots, which is over half the amount Sanchez has needed to find the back of the net and 1.4 shots less than Jamie Vardy.
Not bad, eh? And the rumour is he’s returning for Saturday’s clash with Liverpool…
