West Ham submit £19m bid for Domagoj Vida

New West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini remains active in the transfer market and he is seeking further defensive additions before the window closes.

The Hammers have already landed Issa Diop and Fabian Balbuena to bolster their options in the heart of defence but the injury setback sustained by Winston Reid has left Pellegrini eyeing another central addition.

BeIN Sports Turkey report that West Ham have submitted an offer worth £19m for Croatia’s World Cup finalist Domagoj Vida, who is also a reported target for Premier League rivals Liverpool and Everton.

Currently at Besiktas, the performances of the 29-year-old in Russia have raised interest in his services and a lucrative move to England is tipped to go ahead in the coming weeks.

Besiktas president Fikret Orman is said to have flown to England in an attempt to finalise a deal, although he is keen to negotiate a higher fee for the experienced defender.
