There have been so many highlights of the season so far, but none more so than the immediate impact Diafra Sakho has made since arriving from Metz in the summer.
The striker has been sensational and his spell on the sidelines through injury would have been a huge blow had Andy Carroll not returned from his injury and started banging in the goals himself.
Rumours in the week suggested Sakho might, just might, return from his back injury in the away trip to Liverpool next weekend. But after the club’s official Twitter account posted a vine of the Senegalese striker arriving at Ashton Gate for this afternoon’s FA Cup tie with Bristol City, the fans were beginning to wonder whether Sakho was set for an early return.
And they were right, with the club confirmed just a while ago that Diafra Sakho is on the bench for this afternoon’s cup game. What a huge boost for the team as we prepare for a extremely difficult run of games in the Premier League
And, as expected, the fans on Twitter were going absolutely mental at the brilliant news of Sakho’s return…
