It has been revealed in the last couple of minutes that Carlton Cole is currently at West Brom to discuss a potential last gasp move away from the club.
The striker has been a bit-part player over the last couple of seasons, with Andy Carroll, Diafra Sakho and Enner Valencia all arriving at the club and being ahead of him the pecking order.
But Cole has been as passionate and professional as ever and has never asked for a move away to get more first team action, instead regularly insisting he is happy to stay at the club, fight for his place and be available whenever needed.
He’s a self confessed West Ham fan who has been a great servant to the club since arriving from Chelsea in 2006 and there are a lot of West Ham fans currently revealing their despair at the news he might be leaving the club.
And this my view, too. I’m genuinely gutted that he is leaving. Of course he was never going to have a huge impact at the club in the future, nor was he the best player we’ve ever had at the club. But he has scored some very important goals in the past and there are few players as passionate and loyal as him that we’ll ever have the privilege of seeing play in the famous claret and blue.
Good luck, Carlton. Thank you for everything.
Carlton Cole having a medical at West Brom. Genuinly gutted at this news. #COYI

How can anyone moan about Carlton Cole? Scored some great goals over the years and provided us with great/funny memories and understood fans

Will be gutted if Carlton Cole leaves West Ham, although he is not the best he is West Ham through and through

Cole as a person is a top fella. I'm afraid as a footballer, he is shocking. Love you Carlton, thanks for the memories
