West Ham continue to search for midfield recruits in the summer transfer window and continue to see the name of one midfielder linked with a move to the London Stadium.
Reports linking Anderlecht ace Leander Dendoncker with a move to West Ham first arose in January, with the Belgium international disappointed to miss out on a move to the Premier League.
Dendoncker then enjoyed a fine second-half to the season with his club, earning a spot in Roberto Martinez’s World Cup squad, and is expected to seal a major transfer this summer.
French outlet RMC Sport state that Lyon are in the hunt for the services of the 23-year-old, although they had that it’s still West Ham who lead the charge.
Valued at around €30m by Anderlecht, Dendoncker would prove to be an expensive addition but would add the grit into the heart of midfield that the Hammers have been crying out for.
Capped five times by Belgium, Dendoncker also has international experience that could be valuable for Pellegrini’s side.
