West Ham are favourites to sign Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul, according to BetVictor.com.
The bookmakers have the Hammers in at evens to sign the Dutch 28-year-old shot-stopper, despite the club clearly being in no need to strengthen between the sticks.
They also have Everton (2/1), Middlesbrough (3/1) and Crystal Palace (6/1) in the race for Krul, who is expected to leave the Magpies after their relegation to the Championship.
There have no reports of West Ham’s interest of late, which isn’t a surprise given Slaven Bilic has two top-class goalkeepers in his squad already.
Tim Krul made just eight Premier League appearances for Newcastle last term after injury effectively ruined his campaign, leaving him to watch on from the sidelines as Rafa Benitez’s side slipped in to the 2nd tier of England football.
Krul is regarded as one of the most promising goalkeepers in the Premier League and, at 28, has plenty more years at the top ahead of him.
However, with the likes of Adrian and Darren Randolph both capable of being first team ‘keepers, it’s very unlikely BetVictor have got this one right.
Transfermarkt.com value Krul at £6.8m, and he has just one year left on his St. James’ Park contract.
