West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini is closing in on his eighth summer signing for the Hammers, with the addition of a young starlet.

Portuguese outlet Record states the Hammers have agree terms with SAD Vitoria for the services of the 21-year-old, in a deal that will initially cost just €1.5m.

West Ham have managed to avoid paying the release clause of the young forward, which stood at €15m, but the fee for the Portugal youth international could rise to €3m.

Boasting five goals in 14 caps for Portugal’s U20 side, Silva will initially join West Ham’s U23 ranks – where he could play alongside compatriot Domingos Quina, if the teenager signs a new deal at the London Stadium.

Silva could push into the first-team this season if he impresses due to West Ham’s lack of depth up front, with Jordan Hugill poised for an exit, Andy Carroll sidelined for a number of months and Javier Hernandez struggling for form last term.
