West Ham continue to eye additional recruits as Manuel Pellegrini looks to bolster the side he inherited at the London Stadium but another target seems to be off the cards.

The Hammers, alongside Newcastle United, have been attributed with interest in Atlanta United’s Paraguay international Miguel Almiron following his stellar performances in MLS.

However, The Daily Express understands the United States outfit are not interested in selling the 24-year-old this summer as they seek MLS glory.

Previously linked with the likes of Arsenal and Inter Milan, Almiron is widely regarded to be one of the best prospects across the pond and is backed to make an impact in Europe in the future.

Currently sit top of the Eastern Conference and favourites to lift the MLS Cup in December, Atlanta are not interested in a sale ahead of the transfer window’s closure next month and it means any interested party will have to wait until 2019 for another chance to sign the 12-cap international.
