West Ham’s nightmare start to the season shows no signs of easing.
Three games played, three defeats, 11 goals conceded and just three scored across all competitions — and none of those have come from the strikers.
Lucas Paquetá has chipped in with two, Tomas Souček grabbed one, but up top? Nothing. Niclas Füllkrug has been anonymous, Callum Wilson looks a shadow of his old self, and the closest the Hammers have come to a striker actually scoring was Füllkrug’s disallowed goal against Chelsea.
Graham Potter’s side are crying out for someone to lead the line and, finally, it looks like the recruitment team have turned their gaze towards a player who might just be the solution.
West Ham Keen On Franculino Dju

According to transfer insider Rudy Galetti, West Ham have shown real intent to sign Midtjylland striker Franculino Dju.
The 21-year-old Guinea-Bissau international has exploded into form this season, scoring nine goals in just 10 appearances. That run has put him firmly on the radar of clubs across Europe, with West Ham now pushing to beat off competition from Cesc Fàbregas’ Como.
Midtjylland, however, are reluctant sellers. Dju has racked up 42 goals in 83 games since arriving from Benfica’s academy back in 2021 and is seen as one of their crown jewels. The Hammers know the Danish side well, of course — having famously signed club legend Winston Reid from them back in 2010.
Reports suggest West Ham are preparing a bid of around £12 million. On paper, it’s a gamble: plenty of goals in Denmark, yes, but unproven on one of Europe’s top stages.
Then again, given the current crop of strikers haven’t managed a single goal between them, how much worse could it really get?
