West Ham’s attacking problems were laid bare once again during the weekend’s 2–0 defeat to Liverpool.
While Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo clinically punished the Hammers at one end, Nuno Espírito Santo’s side produced nothing of note at the other — not a single shot on target.
Callum Wilson struggled to get involved and Niclas Füllkrug, possibly in one of his final outings for the club, offered little threat in his brief cameo.
It’s no surprise, then, that West Ham are already working on potential striking reinforcements.
West Ham Send Scouts to Watch Dju

According to Indkast, West Ham sent scouts to Denmark last weekend to watch Franculino Dju in FC Midtjylland’s emphatic 6–0 victory over FC Nordsjaelland.
The 21-year-old forward delivered yet another standout performance, scoring twice and taking his tally for the season to an astonishing 21 goals across all competitions.
The report adds that the Hammers were far from the only club in attendance. Representatives from Everton, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Bournemouth and Burnley were also present, while an official from the City Football Group — owners of Manchester City — was spotted at the MCH Arena too.
Interest in Dju has escalated rapidly.
Last week, Tipsbladet, per Sports Witness, revealed that Midtjylland have placed a €35m valuation on the striker.
Crucially, they also claimed that the player’s agent is “trying to push for a transfer in the winter market,” even though the Danish side would prefer to delay any sale until the summer. West Ham are among the clubs “keen” on securing him.
For a team sitting 17th in the Premier League and crying out for goals, the fact that the club are already making moves is encouraging.
However, with heavyweight European and Premier League competition circling — and the Hammers’ league position hardly appealing — landing Dju in January may prove far easier said than done.
