West Ham are yet to hear whether PSG defender Thilo Kehrer would be open to a move to the Premier League, according to French newspaper L’Equipe (via Sport Witness).

In the Friday edition of their print newspaper, L’Equipe claim that while an agreement between the Hammers and the Parisians over a transfer fee ‘shouldn’t be a problem’ they’re still in the dark over whether the defender would be open to a move to east London.

Earlier this week it was revealed that West Ham had made contact with PSG over the Germany international’s availability after David Moyes was forced to re-enter the transfer market following injuries to three of his four central defenders.

However, while in France it’s being claimed a Kehrer’s decision ‘is yet to be communicated’, Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg believes the 25-year-old would indeed be open to joining the Hammers this summer.

In response to a question on Twitter asking whether the defender would accept a move, Plettenberg simply replied ‘yes.’

Plettenberg also revealed earlier in the week that West Ham had made an official bid of €10-12m for the defender, but that PSG are expecting €20m before agreeing to part ways with his signature.

Kehrer is a left-sided centre-back and would add further depth to that side of Moyes’ defence following the arrival of Nayef Aguerd earlier in the summer, while Angelo Ogbonna has long been the first-name on the teamsheet in that position since he signed for the club in 2015.
