West Ham remain in talks for Fabianski and Mawson

West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini is looking to significantly improve the defensive options he has inherited at the London Stadium and is keen to raid a relegated side.

The Hammers have been widely linked with the services of Swansea City duo Alfie Mawson and Lukasz Fabianski, reportedly already seeing a bid rejected for the duo, but continue to hunt the pair.

Sky Sports report West Ham remain in talks with Swansea, relegated to the Championship in the 2017-18 season, as they push to bolster their defensive line with the acquisition of the duo.

Pellegrini has already drafted in full-back Ryan Fredericks on a free transfer from newly-promoted Fulham and sees Mawson as the ideal central defensive partner to young ace Declan Rice.

Fabianski, meanwhile, is the leading candidate to be West Ham’s first-choice stopper for the new Premier League season after the Hammers elected not to make Joe Hart’s loan spell from Manchester City permanent.
