West Ham’s full focus remains on survival.
With just 10 matches left and a bruising 5-2 defeat to Liverpool still fresh in the memory, the margin for error is slim. Yet belief remains inside the London Stadium that safety can still be secured.
Should they pull off the great escape, groundwork is already being laid for potential summer additions — and one experienced Premier League striker could now be firmly in their sights.
West Ham Handed Jimenez Boost

From a West Ham perspective, developments surrounding Raúl Jiménez make for encouraging reading.
The Fulham forward is, according to reports from Mexico, rejecting the possibility of a return to Liga MX this summer, prioritising an extended stay in the Premier League instead. That stance could open the door for clubs like West Ham.
Jiménez, 34, is approaching the end of his contract at Fulham and is widely expected to depart Craven Cottage when it expires. Despite contributing nine goals in all competitions this term, the Cottagers appear ready to move in a different direction, with a replacement already being lined up.
Crucially for the Hammers, the Mexican international is believed to be targeting a move to another mid-table Premier League side rather than leaving England. That significantly boosts West Ham’s hopes — provided they retain their top-flight status.
West Ham Among Frontrunners
Reports suggest both West Ham and Everton have previously explored the idea of signing Jiménez. The striker, once labelled “sensational” by former Wolverhampton Wanderers teammate Conor Coady, remains a respected and proven presence at this level.
Everton’s stronger league position may currently make them the more stable option, but West Ham’s interest should not be discounted — particularly if survival is secured.
The key factor is Jiménez’s apparent reluctance to head back to Mexico just yet. While a post-World Cup return had been mooted in some quarters, his focus now seems fixed on extending his Premier League career.
For West Ham, that shift in stance could prove significant. A free-agent striker with nine goals this season, vast experience and a point to prove would represent a low-risk, high-upside addition — if they can first ensure they remain in the division to sign him.
