West Ham ramping up the pressure on more deals?

So far so good, right?

Slaven Bilic has come in, signed a few very good players and has got off to a winning start in the Europa League.

But if we’re to successfully navigate a Premier League season alongside a long, arduous Europa League campaign, more reinforcements will need to be brought in before next month’s transfer deadline.

And there’s been no shortage of transfer rumours to suggest Slav and the board are doing all they can to continue strengthening the squad.

So here’s are today’s transfer rumours for you to enjoy. Some look promising, others don’t…

Kevin Mirallas

According to MirrorFootball, we’ve offered Everton £6million for Belgium international Kevin Mirallas.

We all know what he’s capable of he’d obviously a quality addition to our squad, but some fans have rightly pointed out his attitude problems.

Everton were thought to have been keen on allowing him to leave due to said issues, and you could argue having someone like that in our squad could prove to be more of a hindrance than anything else.

But that’s just rumours and speculation so far, so the general consensus is that we should really, really try and bring Mirallas to east London this summer.

Close to Cambiasso?

Cambiasso pretty much kept Leicester City in the Premier League all on his own last term. The 35-year-old proved he still has what it takes to compete at the highest level, though whether he’d be a permanent fixture for us next season is another question.

The Sun are reporting we’re close to agreeing personal terms with the midfielder, which would mean us beating Leicester City to his signature.

Personally I don’t see the point in signing him, mostly because of his age, and he’d probably be better of re-signing for the Foxes.

Return for Nene?

Poor ol’ Nene didn’t get a fair chance to show what he was capable of last season, and was released at the end of the campaign as a result.

But it appears Slaven Bilic is interested in brining him back to the club, thought the Brazilian isn’t so sure himself. Surely we’re a much more attractive option under Bilic now?

Wondered when this one would resurface…

As is the case every single transfer window, Newcastle are reportedly ‘keeping tabs’ on James Tomkins.

Tomkins has been a hero for us in our early Europa League ties, netting two goals already, and would undoubtedly be eager to stay at the club he supports during an exciting era.

New Magpies boss Steve McClaren is interested in bringing him to St. James’ Park this summer, though. The chances of Bilic allowing him to leave are very slim, obviously.

Will Newcastle ever give up on Jimmy T?

And finally…

Andy Carroll may not return to action again until October.

The striker is in the middle of his rehabilitation and David Gold admitted yesterday that he hopes to see him return to first team action in September…

But reports this evening claim Slaven Bilic is reluctant to rush the England man back too early and would rather wait a little longer to ensure he doesn’t relapse and suffer another season ending injury.

The fact Bilic sees Carroll as an important part of his plans is a promising one, but it’s also promising that the new boss won’t be pressured in to rushing him back unnecessarily.
