West Ham United took another important step toward Premier League survival on Wednesday night.

A hard-fought 1-0 victory over Fulham moved the Hammers level on points with Nottingham Forest in the relegation battle, with Crysencio Summerville continuing his excellent run of form by scoring his fifth league goal in eight games.

Despite bringing in two forwards during the January window — Taty Castellanos and Pablo Felipe — and enjoying Summerville’s recent goalscoring surge, it appears the club are already exploring ways to further strengthen their attack ahead of the summer transfer window.

West Ham Poised to Move for Parrott

According to SportsBoom, West Ham are one of the clubs closely monitoring AZ Alkmaar striker Troy Parrott after his prolific season in the Netherlands.

Leeds United are also said to be tracking the Republic of Ireland international, with both sides potentially ready to make a move once the summer window opens.

Parrott joined AZ from Tottenham Hotspur last year for a reported £6.7 million and signed a five-year contract with the Dutch side. However, his outstanding form has quickly driven up his value, with AZ believed to be looking for somewhere in the region of £15–17 million to consider a sale.

While that figure is not enormous by modern Premier League standards, it would still represent a notable investment for a player yet to fully establish himself in England’s top flight.

That said, his recent performances suggest he could prove a bargain if he can replicate his current scoring form back in the Premier League.

Parrott in Red-Hot Form

Parrott — previously described as “special” by his former club Belvedere FC — has enjoyed a remarkable run in front of goal over the past two seasons.

He scored 20 goals in all competitions last campaign, and has already gone one better this season with 24 goals to his name, recently firing AZ into the Dutch Cup final with another crucial strike.

His rise has not been limited to club football either. Parrott has also made a major impact for the Republic of Ireland, scoring five goals across two key victories that helped power the national side into the World Cup play-offs.

With 33 caps already to his name, the striker is increasingly seen as Ireland’s main attacking threat and could be set to play in his first World Cup this summer if they progress.

If that happens, West Ham may need to act quickly. A strong showing on the international stage would almost certainly drive Parrott’s price even higher, turning what currently looks like a reasonable £15-17 million deal into a far more expensive pursuit.
