West Ham are set to explore the option of signing Michy Batshuayi on-loan from Chelsea over the course of the summer as they eye improvements to their forward line.

Belgian ace Batshuayi, signed from Marseille for a fee believed to be around £33m last summer, has struggled to establish himself amongst the first-team at Stamford Bridge.

The 23-year-old has played just 113 minutes of Premier League football this season, spread out across 17 substitute appearances, and has started just five games for the Blues- with those chances coming in the FA Cup and League Cup.

Still highly-rated, Batshuayi has scored five goals for Chelsea this season but is expected to remain out of the Blues first-team next term as Antonio Conte eyes additional recruits to strengthen his squad for the return to Champions League football.

The Evening Standard states West Ham will reignite their interest in Batshuayi, who was a target for the Hammers last summer, and approach Chelsea regarding a potential loan deal.

Valued at £21.25m by TransferMarkt, Batshuayi could provide a significant boost to the Hammers next season if he rekindles the form that saw him attract vast attention during his time with Marseille.

Prior to moving to the Premier League, Batshuayi netted 17 goals for Marseille in Ligue 1 and ended his time in France with a return of 26 goals in 62 league matches.
