According to a report by The Mirror, West Ham United have opened negotiations over a new contract with star midfielder Pedro Obiang.
Obiang has been with West Ham for two seasons now and has recently emerged as a target for a number of clubs.
Premier League rivals Everton want to lure Pedro Obiang to Goodison Park while Serie A giants AC Milan and La Liga heavyweights Sevilla are also keen.
But West Ham are desperate to keep their midfield linchpin after a string of impressive performances in the middle of the park last year.
The 25-year-old was one of West Ham’s best performers last season with some important displays in the holding midfield role.
The former Spain under-21 international’s top performances did not go unnoticed as he finished runner-up in the Hammer of the Year contest.
With a number of clubs circling, West Ham want to tie the former Sampdoria man down to a new deal and will offer him improved terms.
Obiang has two years left to run on his current deal at the London Stadium but the Hammers want him to commit to a longer contract.
This report believes that a deal could be struck between the club and Pedro Obiang in the next fortnight.
