West Ham United’s nightmare start to the 2025/26 Premier League season went from bad to worse at the weekend after a humbling 3-0 defeat to London rivals Tottenham.
Goals from Pape Matar Sarr, Lucas Bergvall, and Micky van de Ven sealed a comprehensive win for Thomas Frank’s side, while Tomas Soucek’s second-half red card compounded a miserable afternoon for the Hammers.
It leaves Graham Potter’s men with three defeats from their opening four games, 11 goals conceded, and just one victory to their name – a 3-0 triumph over Nottingham Forest.
Sitting 18th in the table, with the fanbase already turning on the manager, the situation is beginning to look bleak.
And now, reports suggest the board could be preparing for change.
West Ham Eyeing Nuno

According to reports relayed by Tribuna, West Ham are considering Nuno Espírito Santo as a potential replacement for Potter.
Nuno, who was recently dismissed by Nottingham Forest, has emerged as a serious candidate to succeed Potter, having developed a strong reputation for his ability to improve struggling teams.
He memorably guided Wolves to consecutive seventh-place finishes in the Premier League, securing their first European qualification in decades.
More recently, Nuno worked similar magic at Forest, steering them into Europe for the first time in nearly 30 years. His tenure ended abruptly, however, following a clash with controversial owner Evangelos Marinakis earlier this year.
Could Nuno Be The Right Fit?
For many, the 50-year-old looks like a strong option. Aside from a short-lived spell at Tottenham – where few managers have thrived in recent years – Nuno boasts a track record of transforming distinctly average squads into competitive European outfits.
Given West Ham’s current struggles, his disciplined and pragmatic approach could be exactly what’s needed to steady the ship and push the club back toward mid-table security and beyond.
Our take: It feels like the right move. Potter’s time looks to be running out, and Nuno has the experience, the tactical acumen, and the Premier League pedigree to bring back stability.
