West Ham United are one of a number of clubs ready to swoop for Andre Gray after his contract discussions with Burnley hit a snag, The Daily Mail is reporting.

Andre Gray is set to enter the final year of his contract with Burnley and the marksman wants a major wage increase.

Andre Gray currently earns £25,000 but he is looking for £70,000, according to this report, and this prices Burnley out of offering him a new deal.

Burnley have a tight wage structure with Robbie Brady’s £35,000 per week pay packet thought to be the highest at the club.

As a result of this breakdown in contract talks, Burnley will listen to offers of around £10m for the former Brentford star.

Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are weighing up a move while West Ham remain keen.

The 26-year-old netted nine goals in the Premier League last season so he might not be the immediate fix that West Ham need.

The Hammers are searching for a striker who can score around twenty goals in a year.

Gray has previously shown his potential, scoring 23 times in Burnley’s Championship winning campaign in 2015/16.

The Hammers might make a move for Gray as they are desperately searching for a new striker in the summer transfer window.
