West Ham have signed seven new players under Manuel Pellegrini this summer and could now shift their attention to business closer to home.
The Hammers have seen 18-year-old starlet Domingos Quina attract vast interest across the continent after his exceptional performances for Portugal’s U19 side at the European Championships.
Barcelona are amongst the club keen on the teenager, who has just 12 months remaining on his contract, and there had been suggestions that West Ham would sell for just £600k.
However, The Daily Mail reports that Pellegrini’s side have made securing Quina down to a new contract the priority for the final weeks of the transfer window.
Quina has been reluctant to put pen to paper due to frustrations that he is yet to make his Premier League debut but the latest developments suggest that Pellegrini has a spot for him in the first-team.
West Ham will have to assure Quina that he will get game time, as a number of interested clubs have expressed their willingness to hand him a chance.
