With Graham Potter preparing for his first full campaign at the helm, West Ham are actively hunting for attacking reinforcements — and it’s no surprise why.
The Hammers ended last season light on firepower, and with Mohammed Kudus now at Spurs, the need for fresh options up front has only grown more urgent.
Evan Ferguson has quietly moved on after a disappointing loan spell, Michail Antonio is nearing the end of his time in claret and blue, and Niclas Füllkrug failed to leave any lasting impression.
As things stand, Jarrod Bowen is carrying the frontline on his own — and that simply won’t be sustainable over a full Premier League campaign.
If West Ham want to push forward under Potter, a new No. 9 is a must. And the latest name to enter the frame is one of Europe’s most exciting teenage prospects.
West Ham Make Enquiry for Metz Striker Idrissa Gueye

According to Football Insider, West Ham have made an official enquiry for Idrissa Gueye, the highly rated 18-year-old forward currently at Metz.
The Hammers are one of several clubs tracking the Senegalese striker, with Liverpool, Sunderland, Crystal Palace, Brighton, Ipswich, and Southampton all registering interest.
Gueye has quickly emerged as one of the most sought-after young talents in Europe. He scored six goals in 17 Ligue 2 appearances last season, and has already caught the eye of clubs across the continent.
In Germany, both Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt are monitoring him closely, while in Italy, Parma, Atalanta, and Inter Milan are all reportedly keen.
According to L’Équipe, Metz have slapped a £17 million price tag on the teenager, who has been compared to Olivier Giroud due to his physical stature, aerial dominance, and tidy technical play.
If West Ham can win the race for Gueye, they’d be securing one of the top young forwards on the market — and possibly a long-term solution to the club’s ongoing striker dilemma.
Whether he can make the leap to Premier League level remains to be seen, but the potential is undeniable.
