When a leaked image of our 16/17 away shirt began doing the rounds on social media earlier this week, fans weren’t best pleased.
They complained that it was uninspiring, boring, a lazy effort from Umbro.
But this morning the club and Umbro officially launched the away shirt, complete with our new club crest, with Manuel Lanzini, Dimitri Payet and Mark Noble modelling it.
And now we’ve seen it worn by three of last season’s heroes, it looks far better than originally thought.
It is a plain little number, agreed, but the sky blue shorts give the kit character and the new crest looks much nice than originally feared.
It was expected that fans would react negatively to its launch following the reaction to the leaked image, but it was quite the opposite this morning.
