West Ham United are entering January with a pressing need for firepower.

Niclas Füllkrug’s impending move to AC Milan leaves a glaring gap in attack, while Callum Wilson’s age and recurring injuries mean he cannot be relied upon long-term.

Nuno Espirito Santo faces a crucial few weeks to strengthen a forward line that has struggled to deliver this season.

Several names have already been linked with the Hammers, including Jorgen Strand Larsen, Flaco López, Artem Dovbyk, and Žan Vipotnik.

Another player who has recently caught the club’s attention is Brazilian striker Kaio Jorge, a prolific forward who could provide the clinical edge West Ham desperately need.

Reports have confirmed West Ham’s ongoing interest in the 26-goal Brazil international, who has also recently earned a call-up to the national team, showcasing his credentials at the highest level.

Jorge’s performances this year have impressed across South America, with former Brazil U17 coach Guilherme Dalla Dea describing him as “lethal” in front of goal.

However, West Ham’s hopes of securing Jorge face a major obstacle.

According to InsideFutbol and Brazilian journalist Andre Hernan, Cruzeiro have slapped a €50 million price tag on the striker, signalling their intent to retain their star.

This figure is roughly double what the Irons had budgeted for a new striker, putting the deal firmly out of reach and forcing West Ham to look elsewhere for reinforcements.

With the January window fast approaching, the Hammers must now turn their attention to alternative targets as they scramble to bolster a frontline that has struggled to produce consistent goals.
