According to reports in Italy, West Ham United are now in the running to sign Andrea Ranocchia from Inter Milan.

Andrea Ranocchia has been interesting a host of Premier League sides and now West Ham have entered the race, according to Corriere dello Sport reported via talkSPORT.

Andrea Ranocchia spent the second half of last season on loan at Hull City.

While he could not prevent the Tigers from getting relegated, the 29-year-old did impress and has earned a number of admirers.

Newly promoted side Huddersfield Town want to sign another centre-back and Ranocchia fits the bill for them.

Newcastle United also want to boost their options and West Bromwich Albion could make a swoop if Jonny Evans leaves.

The 21-cap Italian international defender is a towering centre-half who is good in the air and a strong tackler too.

Whether West Ham will move for a new centre-back remains to be seen.

The Irons currently have Winston Reid, Angelo Ogbonna, Jose Fonte, James Collins, Declan Rice and Reece Burke vying for the centre-half spots.

If the Hammers do decide to loan out Rice and Burke, though, Slaven Bilic might turn his attention to Andrea Ranocchia.

However, strikers are still the priority at the London Stadium.
