West Ham United are reportedly in talks with Burnley to sign 22-year-old winger Dwight McNeil this summer, who would cost around £15m.

According to reports from Sky Sports, the Hammers have entered negotiations with Burnley to acquire the signature of McNeil this week.

The club are reportedly in competition with Crystal Palace, who have also expressed an interest in signing the U21 England international.

Burnley, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, could be willing to let their star man leave for as little as £15million this summer to raise funds for other players.

McNeil has already bagged heaps of top flight experience with his club, having made 134 Premier League appearances at the age of 22.

McNeil, who is known for his excellent dribbling ability and passing skills, could be of great value to David Moyes and West Ham – who are looking to recruit another winger this summer.

Along with the likes of Jarrod Bowen, Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals, McNeil could fit in nicely in east London.

This would be a good move for the Hammers, who need to recruit more players in order to compete at a high level again next season.

Moyes’ side struggled towards the latter stages of the 21/22 campaign, due to squad fitness and a lack of depth, but McNeil would certainly help ease that problem moving forward.

If West Ham do manage to agree a fee and tempt the 22-year-old the London Stadium, then the Hammers would have another great addition to the team going into the 2022/23 season.
