West Ham have been busy in January, revamping their attacking options to boost their fight against relegation.

The Hammers have already secured three forwards this month: Taty Castellanos, who has hit the ground running with a promising start; Pablo Felipe, a young striker tipped for a bright future; and Adama Traoré, bringing Premier League experience and a connection with Nuno Espirito Santo from their time together at Wolves.

Despite these additions, West Ham are reportedly not finished in the market, with Nuno keen to add even more firepower to help his side escape the relegation zone this season.

Reports suggest West Ham could be eyeing a move for Jhon Duran, the former Aston Villa striker currently on loan at Fenerbahce from Al-Nassr, according to Sabah.

The 22-year-old has Premier League experience and is understood to be open to returning to England.

Duran scored 20 goals in 78 appearances for Villa before joining Al-Nassr for a fee reportedly around £64 million plus add-ons in January 2025. After eight goals in 13 league games for the Turkish giants, he was then loaned to Fenerbahce, where he has since netted fives goals in 21 matches.

West Ham face a complicated negotiation. Any club interested in Duran would likely have to cover Fenerbahce’s loan fee, while arranging a fresh loan with Al-Nassr, who will want a significant return for the striker.

Other Premier League clubs, including Everton, Bournemouth, and Nottingham Forest, have been linked, as well as Saudi side Al-Ittihad, but Duran reportedly prefers a move back to England.

Former manager Unai Emery has described Duran as “special”, highlighting his talent and natural ability in front of goal. However, his attitude and history of disagreements with coaches could be a concern — a tricky balancing act for a West Ham side desperate for goals but needing harmony in the dressing room.

If West Ham can navigate the complexities, Duran would bring proven Premier League quality to a forward line that has already been strengthened this month, potentially giving Nuno the finishing touch in his January overhaul.
