Even with a rocky start to the season under Graham Potter, West Ham United have shown glimpses of positivity in 2025/26.

Lucas Paquetá has rejuvenated the midfield with three goals, El Hadji Malick Diouf has impressed at left-back with three assists, and the arrival of Nuno Espirito Santo has brought a renewed sense of optimism.

Amid these bright spots, Jarrod Bowen remains the Hammers’ standout figure, scoring three goals and forcing his way back into the England squad despite the team’s struggles.

Yet keeping hold of the star winger could prove tricky, according to transfer expert Peter O’Rourke.

Bowen Could Leave for “Big Fee”

Described as “dangerous” by former England boss Gareth Southgate and already loved by Nuno, Bowen has been a standout performer for West Ham since his arrival in 2020, scoring 77 goals, including the winner in the historic 2023 Europa Conference League final.

O’Rourke explained that, while Bowen is contracted at the club until 2030, a substantial offer could tempt the 26-year-old away.

“The only way something might change in Bowen’s future is if somebody does come in and try and test the water with an offer for Bowen, but he’s under long-term contracts at West Ham until 2030, so West Ham will be demanding a big, big fee,” he said.

“Obviously if West Ham are going to continue to struggle and be at the wrong end of the table in relegation fights, then something might happen.”

O’Rourke also noted that Bowen’s ambition to remain in the England setup could influence his decision.

“Bowen could think ‘I want to be playing at a higher level,’ especially if he wants to continue to establish himself in the England fold going forward as well,” he explained.

For now, West Ham will hope their prized asset stays put, helping Nuno build on the early signs of improvement and leading the charge for a stronger season.
