West Ham United are reportedly exploring a January move for Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Jorgen Strand Larsen, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.

The East London side are actively looking to bolster their attacking options as Niclas Füllkrug edges closer to a loan switch to AC Milan.

The Hammers’ interest in the 25-year-old Norway international is believed to be for a permanent transfer, although discussions are at a preliminary stage.

Strand Larsen, who recently signed a long-term contract with Wolves until 2030 — with an option for an additional year — has other clubs monitoring his situation.

Strand Larsen has endured a challenging campaign in the Premier League, scoring just once in 15 league outings, with Wolves currently sitting at the bottom of the table.

Two additional goals came in the EFL Cup, including a victory over West Ham, who themselves remain entrenched in the relegation zone.

Described by Alan Shearer as “excellent,” the Norwegian’s form has been inconsistent.

Wolves recently suffered a 2-0 defeat to Brentford, in which Strand Larsen saw a penalty saved, while West Ham were beaten 3-0 at Manchester City, highlighting the struggles facing both sides this season.

If West Ham are to survive the drop, adding firepower in January is essential. With just 19 goals scored in 17 Premier League games, goals have been hard to come by, and Füllkrug’s struggles have only compounded the problem.

Strand Larsen offers potential — but his current form at Wolves raises questions.

Can he adapt quickly enough to the Premier League and provide the clinical edge Nuno needs? The Hammers will be hoping so, but even if the move goes through, it may be just one piece of a much bigger puzzle to avoid relegation.
