West Ham United are entering the January transfer window with a clear priority: strengthening their attacking options.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side currently languish near the bottom of the Premier League table, struggling both to score and to keep opponents out.
With relegation looming, the Hammers face the dual task of replacing departing players while injecting fresh quality into the squad.
Adding proven talent in the final third has become an urgent necessity.
Reports now suggest that West Ham have set their sights on one particular player who could make an immediate impact.
Hammers Interested in Armand Lauriente

West Ham are reportedly monitoring Sassuolo winger Armand Lauriente as a potential January signing.
According to AreaNapoli, the 27-year-old Frenchman has caught the attention of Nuno Espirito Santo and his recruitment team, who view him as a player capable of boosting the team’s goal output.
Lauriente began his career at FC Lorient before moving to Serie A in 2022, where he has since established himself as a regular starter for Sassuolo. Across 119 career appearances, he has contributed 54 goals and assists, highlighting his effectiveness in the attacking third.
Described as “amazing” by scout Jacek Kulig, Lauriente’s contract runs for another 18 months, and he is reportedly unwilling to extend it further. This has prompted Sassuolo to consider a sale in January to secure a sizeable transfer fee.
West Ham have formally expressed interest, seeing the winger as a player who can provide pace, versatility, and goal threat from wide positions.
Financially, Lauriente earns approximately €1.125 million net per year, making him an affordable target.
However, Sassuolo are demanding around €25 million for a permanent transfer, with no intention of letting him leave on a simple loan. West Ham would need to commit fully to meet the Italian club’s terms and fend off other suitors vying for the winger.
Securing Lauriente could give West Ham the attacking spark they desperately need to improve their Premier League survival chances this season.
