Graham Potter’s summer rebuild at West Ham continues to gather pace as the club ramps up its pursuit of fresh attacking options following a disappointing 2024/25 season.
The departure of Mohammed Kudus to Spurs has left a major creative hole in the squad — one that desperately needs to be filled if the Hammers are to bounce back. Meanwhile, veterans like Vladimir Coufal and Aaron Cresswell have moved on, further accelerating a shift in the club’s identity under Potter.
In response, West Ham have started to strike a balance between experience and youth. Kyle Walker-Peters brings proven Premier League pedigree to the backline, while El Hadji Malick Diouf offers raw energy and versatility.
More arrivals are expected, with Callum Wilson believed to have already agreed terms to join the club, and Leicester City goalkeeper Mads Hermansen said to be “keen” on moving to the London Stadium.
Now, attention is turning to midfield — and one very familiar Premier League face appears firmly in West Ham’s sights.
West Ham in Talks for Ramsey

According to a new report from One Football, West Ham are in talks to sign Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey and are growing in confidence that a deal can be struck this summer.
Though interest in Ramsey had initially been described as tentative, it’s now believed that the club feel increasingly optimistic that the player can be tempted to make the switch from Villa Park to East London.
Still only 24, Ramsey is said to be viewed internally as a strong fit for Potter’s system and someone who could help fill the void left by Kudus.
While no formal offer has been submitted yet, talks are underway, and the expectation is that a deal in the region of £25–30 million could be enough to get it done.
Ramsey, has previously been described as “terrific” by former Villa boss and England legend Steven Gerrard, made 45 appearances for Villa in all competitions last season, though just over half were starts.
With competition for places fierce — including the likes of Donyell Malen, Morgan Rogers, Leon Bailey and the now-departed Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio — Ramsey’s role has been far from guaranteed.
He was left out entirely as an unused substitute in Villa’s recent pre-season win over MLS side St. Louis City — and while that doesn’t confirm anything, it hasn’t gone unnoticed.
A move to West Ham remains possible — and talks are ongoing.
