West Ham continue to eye defensive additions under Manuel Pellegrini and a new name has been thrown into the mix.

FranceFootball names West Ham amongst a number of clubs vying for the services of Lille full-back Kevin Malcuit, in a deal which would likely be on-loan.

26-year-old Malcuit only moved to the Ligue 1 side last summer and impressed with six assists in 23 league appearances, which has raised interest in his services.

While it is indicated Malcuit could remain with the French side for the forthcoming season, Inter Milan, Celta Vigo, Fulham and West Ham are all interested in the right-sided defender – who is also capable of playing in a more advanced role.

Interest from the Hammers can certainly be considered a surprise given the recent addition of Ryan Fredericks, who signed on a free transfer from newly-promoted Fulham, and Manuel Pellegrini can also call upon the experienced Pablo Zabaleta in this position.
