West Ham have identified Independiente del Valle defender Arturo Mina as a potential replacement for James Tomkins, according to The Sun.

James Tomkins was sold to Crystal Palace for £10m earlier this month, and now Slaven Bilic is believed to be in the market for a stronger replacement.

And The Sun claim the Hammers have joined Everton and Southampton in tracking the Ecuador international, an accomplished centre-back who recently impressed for his nation at Copa America.

With a potentially rigorous Europa League campaign on the horizon, Bilic will want to have a number of defensive options available to him in 16/17, but currently only has Winston Reid, James Collins and Angelo Ogbonna available to him as experienced centre-backs.

The 25-year-old has never played in Europe, spending his entire career so far in Ecuador, and is valued at just £1.02m by Transfermarkt.com.
