West Ham have lodged a £20million bid for Napoli striker Manolo Gabbiadini, according to Calcio Mercato.

The report claims the Hammers have matched a £19.8m plus ad-ons offer made by Premier League rivals Everton for his signature.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is eager to boost his attacking options after injuries to new record signing Andre Ayew and Andy Carroll left him short in the goalscoring department just two weeks in to the 16/17 season.

With Everton also looking for a new striker to provide competition for Romelu Lukaku before the transfer window closes, it appears Gabbiadini has a decision to make – London or Merseyside.

The 24-year-old has scored 20 goals in 61 appearances for Napoli since signing for the club in 2015.

Bilic will have identified the Italian’s experience in Europe as a key factor in his decision to target the striker – he netted four goals in six Europa League appearances last season.

Transfermarkt.com value Gabbiadini at £14.45m.
