West Ham have been incredibly active in the transfer market so far this summer and Manuel Pellegrini is weighing up whether to sign a player he knows well.

The Sun states the Hammers have held talks with former Manchester City star Yaya Toure regarding a free transfer to the London Stadium, though it is indicated they are reluctant to offer the veteran a deal.

35-year-old Toure has seen his association with the Citizens, with whom he won a Premier League title under Pellegrini’s tenure, come to a close as his contract expired at the end of June.

A reunion with the Chilean boss in east London has long been touted but the report states West Ham are not convinced on a deal, with a source indicating they fear he could be a disruptive influence.

“Manuel Pellegrini might like him but Toure is perceived as by some others as having too much baggage. There are worries he might actually disrupt the dressing room and there is also little time for his agent.”

“The comments about Guardiola have made them think twice, and they also wonder if he still has it in his legs. It would take a lot of convincing from the new manager, who is currently focused on a lot of other things.”
