West Ham are considering a move for Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman, according to GiveMeSport.

The 27-year-old has been an unstoppable form for the Italian outfit since signing for them in 2022, scoring 37 goals and assisting 23 in 88 first team appearances, including a hat-trick in last season’s Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen.

Lookman’s form in Italy has previously attracted interest from the likes of Man United and Arsenal, both of which reportedly attempted to sign him in the summer. But the Wandsworth-born Charlton Athletic academy graduate remained in Italy beyond the most recent transfer window.

West Ham, though, are keen to bolster Julen Lopetegui’s attacking options after a frustrating opening few months of the season.

Jarrod Bowen, Michail Antonio, Danny Ings and Mohammed Kudus have scored just eight goals between them so far, Niclas Fullkrug has been sidelined with injury for over two months and Crysencio Summerville only scored his first goal for the club in last weekend’s win over Man United.

So with the January transfer window approaching fast, it appears the Hammers are prioritising further attacking reinforcements, with the likes of Lookman and summer target Jhon Duran on the list of potential winter additions.

Lookman’s form in Italy follows a number of difficult and frustrating spells in England with the likes of Everton, Leicester City and Fulham, where he was only able to score 16 goals in 125 appearances for those three clubs combined.

He has now settled in Italy with Atalanta, where is considered one of Gian Piero Gasperini’s main men, and it remains to be seen whether he would be willing to sacrifice Champions League football at a club where he’s settled by returning back to his home city and in a league he previously struggled to make sustained positive impact on.
