West Ham’s search for a new striker is already well underway ahead of the January window.
Niclas Füllkrug is expected to depart after a disastrous spell in claret and blue, while Callum Wilson — despite finally finding form — cannot be relied upon as a long-term solution and still needs competition and support.
A host of names have been floated, from Promise David to AC Milan’s Santiago Gimenez, as Nuno Espírito Santo pushes for a reliable No.9 who can lead the line for the remainder of the season and beyond.
And now, another intriguing option has joined the list.
West Ham Interested in Haji Wright

According to The West Ham Way, per GIVEMESPORT, West Ham have been linked with a move for Coventry City striker Haji Wright ahead of the January window.
ExWHUEmployee explained on The West Ham Way Podcast just how challenging it will be to sign a striker mid-season, but confirmed Wright is one of the names on the club’s radar.
“West Ham are eager to bring in a new frontman in the new year, with that signing ideally being domestic-based who is proven.
“This is not easy as at present options are limited, with the likes of Haji Wright at Coventry being one who is impressing, but difficult mid-season to sign. It may be the club are forced to look abroad for the solution, but the markets here will be fully explored as we look to strengthen.”
Wright, praised as “dangerous” by former Hammer and current Coventry boss Frank Lampard, has been a revelation since arriving in 2023 for a club-record £6.85 million. The USA international has produced 40 goals and 11 assists in 97 appearances for the Sky Blues.
He’s been even sharper this season: nine goals in 16 Championship games, helping Coventry climb to the top of the table.
Lampard will be extremely reluctant to lose his star man midway through a promotion push — but West Ham may have to test their resolve, especially with Niclas Füllkrug expected to be moved on, potentially on loan.
If Nuno wants a striker with pace, physicality and end product, Wright ticks plenty of boxes. Whether Coventry are willing to play ball in January is another matter entirely.
