West Ham have endured a rollercoaster ride in their hunt for a new central midfielder since January but they have received encouragement to make one particular move.
The Hammers have been widely linked with interest in Juventus ace Stefano Sturaro, who looks poised to leave the Italian champions in search of more regular first-team action.
Interest in Sturaro will be high across Europe but West Ham have been handed a boost by the player’s agent, who has suggested his client is keen on a move to the Premier League.
Cited by InsideFutbol, Sturaro’s agent Carlo Volpi told TuttoJuve:
“Stefano has interest from Spain and England.”
“I think that today the Premier [League] is the number one championship in the world.”
“Stefano’s championship [last season] was an excellent championship. He always responded on the pitch, trying to satisfy the needs of the coach and the team.”
West Ham will face competition in the market for the 25-year-old as Leicester and Newcastle are also attributed with an interest.
