West Ham’s resurgence under Nuno Espírito Santo continued with another encouraging display in Thursday’s 1–1 draw at Old Trafford.
Soungoutou Magassa’s late equaliser secured a valuable point, but despite the improved performances, one issue remains firmly unresolved: the lack of a reliable striker.
Callum Wilson is struggling for goals, Niclas Füllkrug has been completely frozen out amid expectations he will leave in January, and Nuno has made it clear that a new No.9 is a priority.
Now, the Hammers have received a significant update regarding one of their leading targets.
West Ham Learn Gimenez Price

West Ham’s interest in AC Milan striker Santiago Gimenez has been well documented in recent weeks.
The Mexican forward — once described as “magic” by former teammate Kyle Walker — has endured a difficult spell at the San Siro since his €32m move from Feyenoord last January.
After lighting up the Eredivisie, he has managed only seven goals in 30 appearances for Milan and is yet to score at all this season, with form and fitness both proving problematic.
According to Il Messaggero, the 24-year-old is now considered “destined for the Premier League”, and Milan are prepared to cash in.
The report claims both West Ham and Sunderland are capable of meeting the €30m price tag — a figure the Rossoneri are expected to accept.
Realistically, Gimenez’s value may have dipped below that number given his struggles in Italy.
Milan paid €32m less than a year ago, but his output hasn’t justified an increased fee. Still, the Serie A side are hoping to recoup as much as possible and move forward with their plans, with Parma striker Mateo Pellegrino already identified as a potential replacement.
For West Ham, the news is both an opportunity and a dilemma. Gimenez’s ceiling is undeniable, but his form since leaving Feyenoord raises questions. If Nuno wants a striker who can make an immediate impact in the fight for survival, €30m is a significant gamble.
