West Ham are stepping up their pursuit of Fenerbahçe left back Hasan Ali Kaldırım and could sign him imminently, according to Fanatik.

The Turkish news outlet outlined that West Ham representatives will be traveling to Istanbul in order to complete a move for the 29-year-old this week.

The Hammers aren’t even said to be interested in negotiating with the club, as they are happy to pay Kaldırım’s five million euro release clause.

BBC Sport had previously reported that West Ham were interested in the full back, but it seems as though things are now moving much quicker.

This could be triggered by his impressive performance against France, in which he played an integral part in limiting France to one shot all game- which went off target.

While it was his defensive contributions of three clearances, one blocked shot, four interceptions and two out of two tackles won that impressed on the day, there is much more to Kaldırım’s game.

According to WhoScored, he is strong in the areas of key passes, holding onto the ball, passing and concentration.

In keeping with this season’s strategy of working quickly in the transfer window, West Ham are set to sign the Turkish full back imminently, in a move that could turn out to be a bargain.
